Target Sectors: Tyres producers, importers, recycle companies and worn tyres sellers

 

Project Objectives:

The purpose of this consultancy assignment is to conduct as baseline assessment about the tyres sector in Egypt and the value chains involved in waste tyre recycling whether by the formal or informal sector. The consultancy also aims to engage producers and importers of tyres in a systematic and strategic way to gauge their views on EPR and how a sustainable and functional scheme would look like.

 

 

Project Outputs and Results:

  • The Study assessed the current supply chains of Tyres in Egypt. 

  • Identification of waste tyre management processes and value chains.

  • The study assessed willingness of waste tyre producers/importers to engage in an EPR scheme for waste tyre and their view on how such a system could work. 

  • Conducting workshop and elaborate recommendations on next steps
